Summary
The California Institute of Applied Technology (CIAT) is seeking a strategic, organized, and people-focused Marketing Manager to join its growing team. This role plays a key part in driving structure, accountability, and momentum across marketing initiatives while directly managing a team of specialists and coordinators.
You’ll oversee daily marketing operations, ensure projects move efficiently, and align team efforts with broader institutional goals. The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills with effective leadership, capable of balancing priorities, motivating a team, and supporting professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and support a marketing team across email, social media, SEO, paid media, content, and partnerships
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development for team members
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career planning sessions
- Build a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture
Project & Operations Management
- Oversee daily workflows to ensure timely completion of campaigns and deliverables
- Develop and maintain timelines, task systems, and accountability processes
- Manage team bandwidth and adjust priorities based on business needs
- Coordinate across departments and act as a key liaison with leadership
Campaign Execution & Strategy
- Oversee integrated marketing campaigns across digital, email, social, partnerships, and events
- Ensure consistency in brand voice, messaging, and execution
- Collaborate with the Creative Manager to align assets and messaging
- Assist in intake, prioritization, and planning of internal marketing requests
Performance & Optimization
- Track campaign performance, productivity, and key marketing metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, performance, and innovation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and institutional standards
Administrative & Compliance Duties
- Partner with HR on employee coaching and support
- Manage timekeeping accuracy and enforce policies
- Maintain a safe, ethical, and professional work environment
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of marketing experience, including 2–3 years managing direct reports
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple projects
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities with attention to detail
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with SEO, paid media, social media, and email marketing preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and marketing/project management tools
- Willingness to work outside standard hours when needed
- Ability to collaborate across academic and administrative teams
- Willingness to travel occasionally for events or initiatives
Work Schedule
Full-time role, typically Monday through Friday
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
Supervisory Responsibility
Manages multiple roles within the Marketing Department, overseeing team performance, development, and daily operations
Work Location
Remote position limited to company-approved locations. Relocation or temporary work outside approved areas requires prior authorization

Work Environment
This role is primarily remote, requiring a secure and ergonomic home office setup. Employees must follow data security protocols and maintain confidentiality. Standard office tools such as computers, phones, and virtual platforms are used daily.
