BGV’s next Strategic Partnership Manager will be front facing with our existing partners as well as new partnerships they grow through outreach efforts. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is critical to the success of our organization. Storytelling and demonstrating the impact of our mission to our current and potential partners is critical to maintaining existing and growing potential partnerships. Responsibilities:
● Development and coordination of new and existing partnerships.
-Existing partners - relationship building for existing partners looks like stewardship; ensure partners are kept informed with strong coordination to make sure things run smoothly.
-New partnerships - involves research, outreach, and closing the deal.
● Onboard partners and assist with issues as they arise.
-Onboarding involves kick off calls; providing detailed documents dependent on programs; involves creating presentation, anticipating needs, and addressing issues in a timely manner.
● Responsible for briefing internal teams about partnerships after pipeline activation.
-Ensure communication with the internal teams (this varies from partner to partner): report dates, capture key data, provide a timeline, or develop an internal data reporting cadence to aid in keeping partners informed and abreast on status.
● Weekly status updates with the impact team on all partnerships and potential grant opportunities.
-Ensure team updates/maintains dashboard on Airtable (partner management tool).
-Outline major updates and responsible for reporting key information.
● Grant management, including relationship building, grant writing, responding to RFPs, registering in various grant databases and researching grant opportunities.
-Grant writing experience.
-Familiarity with writing compelling narratives.
-Strong understanding of goals/outcomes and inputs/outputs.
● Weekly status updates with the BGV HQ team on partnerships in the pipeline.
-Concise but detailed weekly updates and action steps for each team to move
partnerships forward.
● Allocation of partnerships to Directors once they are finalized.
● Refine the partnership lifecycle.
-Collaborate with the department and impact team on determining where to refine.
● Develop (when needed) and solidify legal documentation with our legal team.
● Seek new monetary/non-monetary partnership opportunities that align with BGV’s overall strategy.
-Work to meet established fundraising goals with a focus on corporations, foundations, and high wealth donors.
● Research potential partnerships relating to BGV’s strategy and mission.
● Conduct outreach efforts to various organizations for BGV partnership opportunities.
-Strategize to identify key partners and develop an outreach plan.
● Write impact reports and conduct debrief meetings with partners.
-Deep understanding of impact data and how it aids in with fundraising.
-Use data to story tell within impact reports and debrief decks.
-Leverage the qualitative and quantitative data.
● Deck and document creation.
● Write interim and final grant reports.
● Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
● Preference for Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or Business
Administration.
● Demonstrated fundraising experience with strategic partnerships.
● Working knowledge of Corporation Foundations, Family Foundations, and how they operate
● Excellent written, analytical and verbal communication.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
● Attention to detail is vital.
● Must be tech savvy. Proficient computer skills are required.
● Ability to work independently and under pressure.
● An energetic, outgoing charismatic personality.
● Flexible, reliable and trustworthy.
● Strong agility to shift directions in a changing work environment.
● Ability to work with a high functioning entrepreneurial thinker.
● Ability to show initiative and work well as part of a small team.
