Opportunity:
DeVry University is seeking a strategic and hands-on UX/UI Manager to lead the design and optimization of user experiences across DeVry’s marketing website ecosystem. This role will be instrumental in driving website design excellence that enhances brand perception, increases engagement, and supports student acquisition goals. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Website, the UX/UI Manager will collaborate closely with content, development, digital strategy, and analytics teams to create user-centered digital experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
UX/UI Strategy & Leadership
- Define and drive the UX/UI vision and roadmap in partnership with the Sr. Director, Website.
- Translate institutional and marketing goals into meaningful user experiences that drive engagement and conversions.
- Establish and maintain UX/UI standards, design systems, and best practices across DeVry's web properties.
UI Design Execution
- Lead the end-to-end design process: from concept to delivery, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
- Ensure all designs are responsive, accessible (ADA/WCAG compliant), and aligned with DeVry’s brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with web developers to implement designs and resolve usability issues.
UX Research & Optimization
- Conduct usability testing, persona development, heuristic reviews, and user research.
- Use analytics and qualitative feedback to inform UX decisions and optimize user journeys.
Team Collaboration & Management
- Partner with internal stakeholders including marketing strategists, content creators, developers, conversion testing, and analytics teams.
- Manage external design vendors or contractors as needed.
- Advocate for user-centricity in all digital projects and marketing website initiatives.

Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position. - Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Web Design, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of UX/UI design experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead role.
- Proven expertise designing for large-scale websites or digital platforms, preferably in the education, healthcare, or service industry.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, interaction design, accessibility (WCAG), and usability best practices.
- Experience working in agile or cross-functional marketing/technology team environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience designing digital platforms for higher education or student audiences preferred.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms like AEM or Drupal a plus.
- Working knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) preferred.
