THE POSITION

Are you a problem-solver who would enjoy providing valuable payroll services to your fellow Commonwealth employees? The Office of Administration is looking for a motivated, organized, and dedicated Human Resource Assistant 2 to serve as the Time Advisor in the shared Human Resource (HR) office for the Phoenix and Chester County State Correctional Institutions (SCI). DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Time Advisor for two SCIs in Montgomery and Delaware Counties, you will work closely with the timekeepers and management staff to ensure timely and accurate data is entered for payroll every two weeks. The Time Advisor provides assistance with interpreting complex timekeeping rules and ensuring proper application, while also auditing payroll on a regular basis to meet requirements and fix errors.

Responsibilities also include additional roles associated with HR, such as Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) coordinator, Workers’ Compensation liaison, and assisting in HR with a wide array of para-professional duties. Excellent customer service skills are a priority, as you will have frequent interaction with supervisors, managers, and line staff. You will also serve as a backup for the Time Advisor for the sister institution.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, or 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, or 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, or 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week, based on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Collegeville.

  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Human Resource Assistant 1; or

  • Two years of clerical or other comparable experience, one year of which involved performance of limited technical duties in the field of human resource work; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Montgomery County. If no eligible candidates who live within Montgomery County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
