We’re in the late stages of bringing a highly acclaimed Mobile bestseller to consoles - including Switch2 and Steam(Deck)!! - and we have an opening for someone who understands the last 5% is perhaps the most important phase in ensuring everything comes together!


You are an inspired and very experienced INDIE Unity game dev, whose many years experience creating your own games or working in small nimble multi-disciplinary teams, mean you have had to develop ninja like skills across all areas of Unity game development.


You might be already working on your own passion project, but we have a rare opportunity for a 'Fixer' to step into a very prestigious short-term role - overseeing the fit and finish and attention to detail on a port/remake of a premium bestseller, and helping bring it to a huge new audience!


A short-term well paid remote contract role, you’ll be responsible for a thorough review of the in development beta, examining gameplay frameworks and systems, optimizing code where needed to ensure smooth responsive gameplay, and making suggestions for improvement as required.


Areas of focus include:

  1. 2D NavMesh & Pathfinding – Refine game character navigation using nav meshes and agents in 2.5d dynamic game environments.
  2. Behavior Trees – Building/modifying flexible and scalable behaviors to create engaging, believable interactions between characters, monsters.
  3. 2D Animation & State Machines – Manage animation controllers, ensuring visual parity with the original mobile version. Scrutenising timings, transitions, and responsiveness of character/monster movement.
  4. Touch & Controller Input – Refine existing touch and 3rd-party controller input so that it feels natural across handhelds, consoles, and other devices.
  5. Camera & Zoom Systems – Implement smooth camera systems with adaptive tracking, zoom and framing.
  6. Dev Kit Experience – Familiarity and Hands-on experience deploying and testing on development kits across different platforms (Steam, Nintendo, Playstation, Mobile).
  7. Visual Effects and Presentation - Put your stamp on the game, adding PostFX and ShaderFX that take the original games award-winning visuals to a whole new level for next-gen devices.
