Louis Hernandez Jr.'s Foundation For A Bright Future ("For A Bright Future," "FABF") is a US-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the needs of underrepresented and underprivileged children through education, healthcare, the arts, and youth leadership development.

These labs offer hands-on experience and equip students from diverse backgrounds with the skills and confidence they need to excel in today's fast-paced and dynamic workforce.

Position Overview:
For A Bright Future is seeking a highly motivated and seasoned salesperson to join our team. In this role, you will use your expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By helping coordinate events, generating donor leads, and writing communications, you will hone speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving the Foundation closer to its $2 million or higher-level financial goals.

The ideal candidate will have a development background, focusing on sales and marketing. We are particularly interested in recently retired sales executives looking to use their talents for a social impact. Someone who believes in the mission of FABF and has an exceptional drive for furthering our fundraising efforts as well as strategizing and delivering on new ones. The successful candidate will have the ability to create and use an existing network of contacts and launch a fundraising campaign and will help forge new relationships to build FABF's visibility, impact, and financial resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Your primary responsibility is to develop and implement effective sales strategies that generate cash contributions to support the Foundation's programming.
  • Encourage in-kind donations of services and equipment to support programs wherever applicable.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors, which includes stewardship calls, events, site visits, and regular communications to identify and cultivate potential donors.
  • Identify and pursue new funding opportunities from individuals, corporations, and foundations interested in gift-giving and continuously market and meet with new and potential donors.
  • Leverage your professional and sales network to focus on fundraising through large corporations and individual donations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure fundraising efforts align with organizational objectives.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations to coordinate fundraising events and grant applications.
  • Maintain a detailed database of current and potential sponsorships and donations.
  • Manage and update records of all contacts, contributions, and opportunity pipelines.
  • Ultimately, your goal is to meet or exceed annual plans and long-term fundraising goals through a portfolio of high-impact corporate, Foundation, individual, and public partners.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of selling technology or related solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong sales and marketing skills.
  • Background in media or financial technology (fintech.)
  • Exposure to fundraising and development.
  • Must have a proven track record and a deep understanding of all aspects of sales.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills. In addition, you should have a talent for active listening, dynamic public speaking, and engaging presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for social impact and making a difference in the community.
  • Have senior-level of proactively building a professional network and know how to leverage these relationships.
  • Ability to successfully balance priorities while managing multiple tasks and planning big events.
  • Experience with digital marketing forms such as social media and direct email campaigns.
  • Knowledge of funding sources and the philanthropic culture of South Florida, Los Angeles, New York City, and similar major U.S. cities is preferable.


Location: Based in South Florida and West Coast.
