QBS Learning is seeking a talented Elementary Science Writer & Editor with a strong background in science education and curriculum development for K-5 learners. The ideal candidate will have experience in the publishing industry, knowledge of NGSS standards, and a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality content aligned with educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Writing & Reviewing: Writing and edit elementary science curriculum materials (K-5) to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards).
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with curriculum writers to develop engaging, standards-aligned science lessons and activities for elementary students.
- Standards Alignment: Ensure all content is aligned with NGSS and other state standards, focusing on making the curriculum accessible, accurate, and engaging for young learners.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain consistency in tone, grade-level appropriateness, and pedagogical approaches across all materials.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with writers, designers, and project managers to ensure timely completion and quality control of projects.
- Market and Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date on educational trends, especially in science education, K-5 learning, and NGSS updates, to guide content development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
- Experience working in K-5 education, particularly in science instruction or curriculum development.
- Previous experience in educational publishing, particularly in content creation, editing, or reviewing.
- Strong understanding of NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and other state science standards.
- Proven experience in curriculum writing, instructional design, or educational resource development.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with digital tools for education content creation.
- Experience working with both print and digital curriculum.
- Project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
