At Ariat, we’re seeking a dynamic Learning and People Development (L&D) professional to set the vision for educational and skill advancement opportunities across our growing business. The Director, Learning and People Development will report to the VP, Human Resources and work closely with corporate and retail store leaders to deliver innovative curriculum that inspires and empowers team members.

This individual will create, implement, and facilitate best-in-class talent development programs and resources tailored to Ariat’s collaborative culture. The person in this role will make an immediate impact by accessing Ariat’s global talent needs and curating tools to support our mission and organizational objectives.

The Director, Learning and People Development will provide clarity around Ariat’s strategic vision, values, and key performance indicators by translating concepts into actionable career growth opportunities that engage a diverse workforce.

You’ll Make a Difference by:

  • Identifying learning gaps, strengths, and opportunities within our existing teams and developing L&D strategies in anticipation of operational needs
  • Evaluating the enterprise learning management system and guiding course development, assignments, and reporting on measurable results
  • Establishing metrics to evaluate success, analyzing data, and forecasting future L&D needs
  • Facilitating live training events in-person and online for a variety of adult learning styles
  • Planning and hosting leadership development meetings and conferences
  • Helping drive Ariat’s diversity and inclusivity initiatives forward through impactful programming
  • Utilizing instructional tools including web-based training, visual aids, simulations, assessments and evaluations, and other educational material
  • Promoting a culture of curiosity and continuous learning
  • Identifying and developing high potential leaders
  • Managing policies, procedures, schedules, and budgets
  • Leading internal team and external partners

About You:

  • Minimum of 10 years leadership experience in Learning and Development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Teaching and Learning, Organizational Development, or related field
  • Proven track record in creating multi-function or business unit level learning and development objectives and journeys
  • Enthusiasm for driving engagement by building consensus and collaborating cross-functionally
  • Strong understanding of adult learning methodologies
  • Experience with innovative learning technology including gamification, edutainment, and microlearning
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodology
  • Experience designing and curating creative curriculum for adult learning
  • Knowledgeable in behavioral leadership best practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices and tools
  • Thought leader with strategic problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills
  • Experience leading teams: direct report and project teams

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $160,000 per year.

The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. Ariat in good faith believes that this posted compensation range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
