Rising Tide Interactive’s Content Strategist role offers the opportunity to work on messaging and digital communications for a wide variety of exciting clients. You’ll spend your day working with our digital strategy teams and visual creative teams to draft video scripts, email, ad, and social media copy. You’ll learn the best practices for creating content that reaches, persuades, and activates online audiences across the country.

As part of the Creative team, you will:

• Research, draft, and edit compelling digital marketing, advertising, and fundraising copy to effectively communicate client messaging and meet campaign/organizational goals
• Contribute creative content ideas and assist client teams with content ideation across various digital advertising platforms including social media, search, native advertising, connected television, and others
• Work with client teams and other content strategists to create and monitor A/B tests and optimize client content based on results
• Collaborate with the design and video team to brainstorm visual concepts, stay on top of current styles and best practices, and help our clients be digital trendsetters
• Fact-check and review outgoing client deliverables to make sure only the best copy leaves our firm
• Assist with RTI marketing content (e.g., social content, brochures) and business development materials (e.g., proposal proofing, one-pagers, pitch decks)
• Perform other duties as assigned

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has 2–3 years of professional experience in political writing and/or persuasive marketing
• Understands digital copy best practices and can point to past work in the digital space
• Can articulate how they’d go about writing for 5 distinct people/voices in one day
• Excels at editing their own writing and others’ works
• Shows genuine interest in advancing Democratic candidates and causes
• Inspires others to action through their writing and creative ideation
• Is proud of their work but can separate themselves from it to openly accept constructive feedback and incorporate it into future work
• Has a professional demeanor and the ability to work well with people at all levels
• Is an experienced multi-tasker with excellent time management
• Will always spot the missing Oxford comma, along with other small but important details

Relevant details:

• Salary band: $58,000 – $75,000

• This is a full-time, exempt position and evening and weekend work can be expected at key points during the election cycle. This position goes through November 2024 with the possibility of an extension based on mutual interest and business needs. This is a union-represented position.
• This position is based in our office in Washington, DC. This position will work a hybrid schedule, with two days a week in the office and three days remotely. All RTI employees are expected to be up-to-date on all COVID vaccinations and boosters.
