WECC is seeking a Content Strategist to join us in achieving our mission to reduce risks to the reliability and security of the Western Interconnection.

 

As a member of the External Affairs team, the Content Strategist will interact with WECC’s stakeholders to understand their needs and perspectives, identify their key questions, and gather their input and feedback. The Content Strategist will use this information to provide guidance and shape WECC work products. The Content Strategist will work closely with their colleagues to develop excellent work products that are aligned with WECC’s strategic objectives and provide useful information to stakeholders and decision-makers.

 

You will—

Strategically guide project teams:

  • Understand key reliability and security themes and issues from the perspective of WECC stakeholders and applying that information to project creation,
  • Identify and gather stakeholder input WECC should consider in work planning and production,
  • Help project teams identify critical audiences and working with teams to organize, create, and present information in a way that helps the target audience understand the material and messaging, and
  • Understand critical policy objectives to help harmonize WECC’s approach to reliability issues.

 

Work with colleagues to produce excellent products:

  • Help organize people, projects, and resources to ensure projects are successful,
  • Work with WECC executive management, project leadership, project management, subject matter experts, and the Strategic Engagement department to scope and plan projects that meet stakeholder needs and address important issues of reliability and security,
  • Help project teams identify and incorporate crucial perspectives and skillsets within WECC and in its stakeholder community,
  • Act as a liaison between WECC management and project teams to meet strategic objectives and produce high-quality work,
  • Support work on process improvement and ensure continuous improvement in work production,
  • Ensure WECC is providing high-quality, independent analyses to its stakeholders by using the breadth of its tools, expertise, and information, and
  • Provide technical writing support to project teams to ensure technical information is shared appropriately with the target audience.

 

Interact with WECC stakeholders to:

  • Help WECC find and gather feedback about its work to inform new products and improve existing products,
  • Support committee work projects when necessary,
  • Learn about topics of interest and ideal ways to share information, and
  • Foster WECC’s role as an independent, resource-neutral source of data and information.

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in law, communications, journalism, business, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience resulting in demonstrated ability to perform major duties
  • At least five years’ experience working in a strategic position with teams on large projects.

Benefits and Compensation

The base salary range for this full-time position is $71,255–$89,069 + discretionary pay + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and mid-point for the position across all locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter will share more details during the hiring process.
