Job Summary and Qualifications

 

As the Benefits Analyst, you will provide vendor relations management for health and welfare plan third party administrators and insurance companies to ensure the highest level of employee benefits operations delivery. You will resolve elevated issues relative to benefit plan interpretation and administration. You will also analyzes, researches, and presents benefits appeals and recommendations.


Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Oversee relationships with health and group benefit providers including medical plans, prescription benefits, FSA plans, wellbeing and voluntary benefit plans.
  • Provide consulting services to claims administrators concerning plan provisions, operations, and benefits administration.
  • Manage day-to-day vendor relations, performance metrics of multiple claims administrators, and analyzing data, developing, and monitoring process improvement plans.
  • Oversee implementation and testing of annual plan design changes for each vendor
  • Resolve complex employee benefits issues elevated by the Service Center and other internal partners.
  • Assist with the development of Summary Plan Description, Summary of Material Modifications, Summary of Benefits Coverage, and Schedule of Benefits.
  • Research, and develop recommendations for second level appeals on the medical plan and present to the Benefits Appeals Committee for decisions.
  • Serve as a consultant to other staff members and field operations
  • Conduct vendor on-site operational assessments and claims audits.
  • Manage implementations of benefits programs with third party administrators and pilot programs including developing implementation project plans and communications materials.
  • Assist with strategy on wellbeing programs
  • Facilitate carrier annual review meetings and analyze individual carrier benefits programs
  • Provide subject matter expertise for employee benefits communications.
  • Effective communications and marketing skills.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage internal and external resources and partnerships
  • Develop and provide training for vendors and internal partners

 

What qualifications you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree is required
  • 3+ years of experience in the employee benefits or related fields is required
