US Computer based Sales and Marketing Specialist – Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS)

Overview
The Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS), founded in Canterbury in 1961, has long played an important role in providing training in the spheres of family history, heraldry, and archival research. We deliver accredited courses, publications, and also offer bespoke research services to a global market. We now seek a driven US Computer Sales and Marketing Specialist to grow our sales in the USA. We require an imaginative and innovative person with excellent computer skills. Of key importance is the promotion of our two flagship Correspondence Course in British Isles Genealogy, and worldwide heraldry, for which we seek to drive a minimum of 6 US enrolments per month. We further wish to promote all aspects of our portfolio. This is a high-impact, results-oriented role with uncapped earning potential via generous commission.
Key Responsibilities
1.Conceptualise and initiate a US-focused marketing strategy
The primary aim is to reach appropriate audiences effectively and in the most cost-effective manner, utilising the web and social media, and building lead-generating funnels linked to appropriate channels such as Ancestry.com, FamilySearch, RootsTech, Wikitree, American Ancestors/NEHGS, lineage societies and other niche influencers.
2. SEO & Web Guidance
Through keyword research, provide explicit instructions for our UK webmaster to implement US-targeted SEO and hreflang tags. Advise on US pricing psychology, accreditation perception, and trust signals.
3. Work with the UK team
Suggest suitable promotional material for our website, including webinars and the like, to enhance engagement with target groups.
4.Sales Target & Launch Execution
Aim to deliver a minimum of 6 confirmed US enrolments per month of our highest value genealogy and/or heraldry courses.
Requirements
Native US English speaker with an established track record in growing sales.
Residence in the USA
Excellent working knowledge of SEO and web-based marketing..
Comfortable directing remote teams and owning revenue targets.
Compensation
Base Fee: $2,000 per month, on a one year contract in the first instance, with a 3-month trial period. Paid monthly at the end of the month.
Course Commission:10% of net US course revenue, payable monthly after student 14-day cooling-off period while remaining in our employment (no cap).
Research Commission:10% of net revenue from US heraldry and genealogy research commissions, payable monthly upon client payment while remaining in our employment (no cap).
