Remote SQL Developer (SQL Server / T-SQL / ETL)

A well-established, highly regarded financial research and ratings organization is adding a Remote SQL Developer to support data-driven products used by consumers, professionals, and institutions. This team builds trusted analytics across markets—helping people make smarter, safer decisions with high-quality insights.

What you’ll do

1. Build & maintain SQL Server database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers)
2. Optimize performance for large datasets (query tuning, indexing strategies, execution plans)
3. Develop ETL workflows to support integration, reporting, and analytics use cases
4. Partner closely with application developers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable data solutions
5. Troubleshoot & resolve database issues with a focus on availability, integrity, and stability
6. Contribute in an Agile environment (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
7. Stay current on modern database practices, tooling, and architecture patterns

What we’re looking for

1. 5+ years of hands-on SQL development and database design experience
2. Strong SQL Server + T-SQL expertise
3. Experience building and supporting ETL/data integration processes
4. Proven ability in performance tuning (indexing, query optimization, monitoring)
5. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and reporting/BI tools (e.g., SSRS, Power BI)

Bonus points (nice to have)

1. Experience with Azure SQL Database (or similar cloud data platforms)
2. Exposure to CI/CD approaches for database deployments
3. Comfort working in a remote-first environment with strong written communication
