Job Description:

The Senior Game Artist is the visual anchor of the gaming arts. This individual sets the aesthetic tone for project, with a keen awareness of aligning game mechanics and experience with market trends, emerging technologies, and consumer interests. This experienced partner balances visual richness with relevancy to player and can inspire by solution and attention to details that matter. A Senior Game Artist will act in a mentoring role for other artists, push to accelerate new pipelines and emerging methodologies, all while founded on core artistic principles of color, composition, and light. This role partners with all areas of game development but is a primary member of the art team to setting rich visual benchmarks and pioneer new market pinnacles.

Reports To: Manager of Studio

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Be the visual architect of the games and features
  2. Storyboard, research, conceptualize, and rapid iterations of ideas
  3. Develop graphic layouts, symbols, interface, logos, and printed art materials
  4. Stay current in market styles, mechanics, presentation shifts, and feature showcase
  5. Support and conduct open reviews and feedback sessions for art team
  6. Establish and refine Art Production workflow and best practices
  7. Understand 2D/3D modeling and texture mapping solutions
  8. Partner with game Artists and Producers on overall vision of the product
  9. Work to complete projects to meet scheduled dates setting tone for art team
  10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment a must

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education / Experience

  1. Bachelor of Science College degree in Graphic Art or Design
  2. 8-10+ years of experience in Casino or Video Game Development

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Expert knowledge in Art Design, graphics, composition, and branding
  2. Excellent skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects
  3. 3D Modeling and Texturing experience, Maya, Max, or similar
  4. Strong attention to detail regarding shape, line balance, contrast, and visual relevancy
  5. Experience working and building scenes in runtime engine i.e. Unity or Unreal
  6. Able to work unsupervised while maintaining a high-level of productivity
  7. Experience with asset optimization challenges/techniques, and data management
  8. Must be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary
