The Solutions and Technologies (S&T) group is looking for an outstanding Engineering leader who can leverage their expertise and product vision to help lead and grow our Cloud Contact Center team and product portfolio. As the leader of this team, you will be responsible for delivering customer value incrementally, leading a team of engineers of all disciplines and take ownership from inception through to field support, working with our Engineering, Platform and Product teams in executing toward that vision.

 

About The Responsibilities

 

  • Lead engineering and architecture teams to define, maintain and execute the development of key components of Avaya Public and Large Enterprise Cloud Solution and Reference Architecture.
  • Own feature development throughout the development lifecycle in partnership with Product Managers and other teams
  • Identify opportunities for improving work methodology
  • Support and mentor other team members, creating a healthy work environment
  • Timely communicate risks and deviations
  • Contributes to an open and transparent workspace
  • Provide input to customer documentation, knowledge transfer and training materials
  • Support customer escalations as necessary related to areas of ownership
  • Contribute to the architectural evolution for areas of ownership to improve performance, reduce downtime and enhance customer satisfaction

 

Experience

 

About You

 

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in management of a product development team of cloud native services
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and/or experience in a service provider industry is desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of programing languages such as Golang, Rust, Java
  • Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating cloud-based software solutions.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker and associated cloud techs
  • Management of distributed teams
  • Proficiency in documenting process and monitoring performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to cloud computing and security.
  • Ability to keep up with software industry trends and innovation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Skills & Competencies

 

  • Proven experience creating/transforming high performance engineering teams using contemporary best practices (e.g., Agile, Value Streams, DevOps, Microservices, etc.)
  • Proven experience in Cloud/Enterprise Communication, Enterprise Contact Centers, or IT Applications (e.g., CRM)
  • Proven experience with developing and deploying mission-critical, highly available Cloud-Native or Hybrid Cloud solutions. Cloud Transformation and/or Migration of solutions from on-premise to cloud strongly desired
  • Proven experience in owning and delivering business outcomes, developing a culture of empowerment, and measuring results
  • Experience in planning and executing the architecture of highly distributed and scalable systems to solve complex problems
  • Experience creating, developing, mentoring, and promoting globally dispersed high-performing team members
  • Experience in a DevOps environment
  • Experience with Enterprise Software and Networking
  • Hands-on experience in back-end or front-end development preferred
  • Desired Technical Skills:
  • Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Cloud Services (GKE, EC2, Lambda, etc.)
  • Microservices, Containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Full-stack development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS, Java, etc.)
  • OS (Linux, Windows), Database, Networking, Virtualization
  • AWS, Azure, or other cloud-based hyperscale environment Certifications preferred

Compensation

 

The pay range for this opportunity is from $137,300 to $185,300 + performance-related bonus + benefits

 

This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
