Our client is an unsigned pop artist looking to hire a social media manager to help him grow his core fanbase. You'll lead the charge in building a fanbase, sparking viral engagement, and setting the stage for future label interest.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Planning
- Build a platform-specific roadmap to grow the artist's presence on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and emerging channels
- Translate the artist's brand, visuals, and story into a consistent social voice and tone
- Plan content rollouts for singles, music videos, live sessions, and personal storytelling moments
2. Content Creation & Direction
- Create and schedule short-form videos, behind-the-scenes vlogs, stylized photo series, meme formats, and reels
- Work with a small team of editors and photographers to create compelling visual assets
- Guide the artist in self-shot content with scripting prompts and format ideas
3. Paid Media & Growth
- Launch and manage paid social campaigns to drive streaming growth, audience targeting, pre-saves, and YouTube views
- Test and optimize A/B creatives for different audience segments
- Build lookalike audiences based on early engagement and identify best-performing content for boosting
4. Engagement & Analytics
- Monitor comments, DMs, mentions, and hashtags to foster community and amplify organic enthusiasm
- Develop grassroots fan engagement tactics (e.g., early access invites, remix challenges, fan duets)
- Use analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, TikTok Ads Manager, Google Analytics, etc.) to track KPIs and adjust tactics weekly
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of social media experience in music, entertainment, or youth-centric culture brands, with a strong portfolio of work for rising artists or creators
- Proven ability to craft viral content, especially on TikTok and Instagram Reels
- Experience with paid advertising tools on Meta, TikTok, and YouTube
- Comfortable working as a one-person content department, with some freelance support
- Video editing, motion graphics, and Canva or Adobe Creative Suite skills are a strong plus
- Deep understanding of pop music culture, from Spotify algorithm trends to niche subgenres and fashion aesthetics
- Passion for storytelling, emerging music discovery, and building an artist's career from the ground up.
Preferred Experience
- Work on unsigned or indie artist campaigns, especially grassroots or breakthrough success stories
- Familiarity with DSP tools (Spotify for Artists, YouTube Studio)
- Understanding of how label A&Rs and industry gatekeepers track digital momentum
