Job Description:

Virtucom Group is based in Syracuse, New York, and provides custom content for Fortune 500 retailers and leading marketing agencies. Virtucom Group is currently seeking qualified individuals to join its longform content creation department, which heavily focuses on search engine optimization (SEO). This is a remote position, with training provided during the first month of employment via Microsoft Teams or similar platforms.

Job Duties

  • Create multiple custom content pieces per day, including blog posts, web pages, sponsor content, social media posts, email newsletter copy, ebooks, and product/retail content (i.e. product descriptions, feature statements, product attributions).
  • Follow complex writing instructions and formatting requirements, using style guides and branding materials that vary for each client.
  • Maintain the style, tone, and writing procedures set by the department to ensure consistency across all writers’ content.
  • Self-edit all written content for grammar, readability, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Work with an editor to manage daily workflow.
  • Meet individual production expectations and daily goals.
  • Attend virtual team meetings and training sessions as needed.
  • Keep in frequent communication with the entire longform team via email and instant messaging.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must reside in New York State.
  • Candidates must hold a bachelor degree from an accredited college or university. A BA/BS degree in English, Communications, or Marketing is preferred.
  • Candidates must possess strong attention to detail, knowledge of proper grammar and SEO, and the ability to craft coherent yet compelling content ranging from 500-3,000+ words per piece.
  • Candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment that prioritizes a high quality of work.
  • Candidates are expected to write each piece as efficiently as possible to ensure the accuracy and thoroughness of all content created.
  • One year of copywriting or editing experience is required. Three years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, etc.) is required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting salary: $37,500 - $40,000 per year
