Job Description:

Summary: This Senior copywriter role owns the content experience for the client Web Design System and leads strategic improvements to high‑impact web content across client. You’ll partner with design systems team to help craft our internal documentation of the design system and with product marketing, SEO, and content stakeholders to plan, write, and continuously improve organic web content.


Roles & Responsibilities:

Design system (60%)

  1. Own design system docs: Plan, write, and maintain documentation for components, tokens, patterns, accessibility, and contribution guidelines. Create clear examples and usage guidance that speak to both designers and engineers.
  2. Shape the information architecture: Design and evolve the IA, navigation, and taxonomy for the design system site so people can quickly find what they need.
  3. Drive content standards: Define and enforce content standards, templates, and style guidelines for design system documentation. Coach contributors (designers, engineers, PMs) on how to write good component and pattern docs.
  4. Collaborate across disciplines: Partner with system designers, engineers, content designers, and product teams to document new components and patterns. Facilitate doc reviews and ensure documentation keeps pace with changes to the system.
  5. Champion accessibility and inclusivity: Ensure documentation clearly articulates accessibility requirements and best practices for each component/pattern. Collaborate with accessibility experts to embed guidance into the docs.
  6. Support adoption and advocacy: Create supporting materials (how‑to guides, migration guides, release notes, examples) that help teams adopt system components. Contribute to internal communications about major system and documentation changes.

Organic content improvements to support AEO and AIO (40%):

  1. Audit and analyze existing WAC organic content to identify high-potential pages and critical usability, maintenance, and organization issues.
  2. Lead the reorganization of priority surfaces (Teamwork Collection article hub and Product guides) to improve findability and end-to-end content journeys.
  3. Design and refine information architecture, taxonomy, and labeling so content better aligns with user search intent and is more easily discoverable by both humans and AI.
  4. Reflow and restructure page content to improve hierarchy, sequence, and narrative flow, ensuring each page clearly supports key user tasks and intent.
  5. Rewrite and reformat copy using SEO and AEO best practices, including improving scannability (headings, summaries, lists, visuals) and applying plain-language principles.
  6. Partner with marketing, content design, and SEO stakeholders to execute the existing Q3 content strategy for the Teamwork Collection hub and Product guides.
  7. Establish and document content standards, templates, and guidelines that support ongoing maintenance and consistency across WAC content.
  8. Monitor performance signals (traffic, engagement, search behavior, support insights) to identify opportunities, validate changes, and prioritize future content improvements.


Required Skills & Experience:

  1. 8+ years’ experience in copywriting
  2. Proven experience writing for B2B SaaS or technical audiences (designers, developers, admins, or power users), translating complex concepts into simple, actionable language.
  3. A strong portfolio that showcases:
  4. Opinionated, system level or documentation content (e.g., guidelines, patterns, docs, or knowledge bases)
  5. Narrative and marketing copy that drives understanding, adoption, or conversion
  6. Examples of structuring content for readability, scannability, and reuse
  7. Demonstrated ability to:
  8. Design content structures (IA, navigation, templates, patterns) as well as write the words
  9. Collaborate with cross functional partners (design, engineering, product, marketing, SEO) and bring them along on content decisions
  10. Work autonomously, set priorities, and ship high quality work in ambiguous problem spaces
  11. Comfortable working with SEO and AEO inputs—such as search intent, keyword themes, and content performance data—and using them to shape content strategy, structure, and language without sacrificing clarity or brand voice.
  12. Familiarity with design systems, design tooling, or component based thinking (you don’t need to code, but you should be comfortable writing about components, tokens, patterns, and workflows).
  13. Deep skills in:
  14. Plain language writing and editing
  15. Content hierarchy and information design
  16. Crafting helpful, inclusive, and accessible content for global audiences
  17. Structuring large documentation sets: information architecture, navigation, templates, and reuse.
  18. Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and how they apply to UI components and patterns.
  19. Facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills: you can demonstrate the ability to integrate the work of multiple teams, solicit and synthesize feedback, and facilitate design discussions that lead company wide outcomes and positively influence future delivery roadmaps.
  20. Familiarity with design tooling and concepts (e.g., Figma, components, tokens, responsive design).
  21. Comfort working in an agile, fast paced environment and managing multiple doc streams.
  22. Bonus points if you have:
  23. Experience writing or maintaining documentation sites or large content libraries
  24. Hands on collaboration with content designers, UX writers, or technical writers
  25. Experience working in or with Atlassian products, or other collaboration/productivity tools


Top 3 tech skills: Understanding design systems writing, understanding SEO writing, and be able to shift writing styles.

Top 3 soft skills: Good communication skills, work with cross functional stakeholders, collaboration and organization skills.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
