As the Senior Content Designer, you will drive content strategy and execution for complex, high impact projects. They collaborate closely with product, design, and marketing teams to craft messaging that resonates with users while supporting business objectives. Senior Content Designers take ownership of defining content patterns, contributing to style guides, and ensuring consistency across products. They also mentor junior designers, troubleshoot design-related content challenges, and play a key role in shaping the future direction of content systems within the organization.
This role is open to remote first or hybrid. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you’ll do
- Establish content principles for their product area and applies them to guide strong writing decisions.
- Navigate trade offs when user needs and business goals are in conflict to ensure effective messaging.
- Resolve design or engineering constraints that impact content clarity and creates voice resources for key product moments.
- Use platform specific conventions and takes informed risks with messaging, explaining rationale to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with designers to improve content patterns and applies best practices for notifications across channels.
Basic qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience in a UX writing, content design, or content strategy related role (e.g. copywriter, information architect, ux writer, content strategy, etc.).
- 1 or more years of experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting individual contributors across operations, design, or research.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (4 yr) in English, Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, UX/UI Design, Information Architecture, Product Design, related field, or equivalent industry experience
- 2 or more years’ experience working in ecommerce or other large, multi-channel environment
- Ability to shape content strategy and messaging principles for complex product areas.
- Skill in resolving content challenges involving design, engineering, accessibility, or platform constraints.
- Experience evolving content patterns and contributing to long term content system improvements.
- Capacity to navigate ambiguity, guide partners through trade offs, and influence alignment across teams.
