Brown Bear Education is a Canada-based online English writing education organization dedicated to delivering structured, high-standard writing programs for K–12 students across North America and Asia.
Through carefully designed curricula and a strong teaching team, we aim to help students develop academic writing skills, critical thinking abilities, and overall language proficiency.
We are currently expanding our curriculum system and scaling our academic team. As we develop a comprehensive Grade 1–12 writing curriculum and grow our online teaching faculty, we are seeking a part-time Recruitment Specialist to support our hiring needs.
This role will be responsible for recruiting across multiple functions, including curriculum development positions (e.g., curriculum architects, lead editors, writers, and editors) as well as online writing instructors.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment Channel Management
- Post and maintain job listings on recruitment platforms (e.g., Indeed, LinkedIn, Upwork, etc.)
- Manage candidate applications and platform dashboards
- Update job statuses in a timely manner
- Monitor channel performance and provide optimization suggestions
2. Resume Screening and Initial Interviews
- Conduct initial resume screening based on company hiring criteria
- Evaluate candidates’ educational background and teaching or curriculum development experience
- Conduct preliminary video interviews to assess communication skills and professional alignment
- Prepare structured evaluation summaries
- Recommend shortlisted candidates for final interview or decision stages
3. Gradual Improvement of Recruitment Processes
- Refine job descriptions (JDs) as hiring needs evolve
- Clarify and organize hiring standards for different roles
- Develop basic resume screening templates and evaluation criteria
- Establish clear and practical interview procedures
- Continuously improve recruitment workflows as hiring volume increases
III. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above
- Minimum 3 years of recruitment experience in education, academic, or publishing environments
- Familiarity with North American K–12 education systems (Canada and/or United States)
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Experience with structured interviewing and candidate evaluation preferred
IV. Work Structure & Compensation
- Contractor, remote collaboration
- Flexible working hours depending on hiring volume and recruitment cycles
- Base hourly rate: $20 USD per hour
- Performance-based hiring bonus ranging from $80–$150 USD per successful hire, depending on role level
Strong performance in recruitment efficiency, candidate fit, and overall hiring results may lead to increased overall compensation and broader collaboration opportunities based on contribution.
