ABANA is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit association serving professionals in finance and related industries, who have heritage and/or interest in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. Its diverse network of professionals work in commercial and private banking, hedge funds, asset management and real estate, private equity and venture capital, consulting, technology, law, and other fields related to finance.
ABANA is a membership association with nearly 500 members and 60 member institutions, who not only reflect the professional and geographic diversity of an increasingly interconnected global economy, but are also the drivers behind many of today’s discussions around emerging and frontier markets.
ABANA is best known for its robust calendar of events including panel discussions, seminars and conferences, as well as an annual award event. The meetings and discussions provide its members and guests with new professional connections, direct contact with global business leaders, and access to timely business intelligence, with a special focus on the MENA region.
ABANA just celebrated its 40th year and is looking forward to growing its team, membership, and global presence. Its active 21-person board also recently launched the ABANA foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity providing education scholarships, mentorship, and other programs directed at students of related industries and focus.
Position
ABANA is seeking an experienced part-time Operations/Administrative Assistant who will help the organization grow and better serve its diverse membership by assisting with various tasks related to office management, accounting, data entry, communications, and program/events management.
We are a small team of 5-6 individuals who work collaboratively to achieve big things, and our ideal candidate would be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a small team, wearing multiple hats and contributing as needed.
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule to be performed mainly from our office in Manhattan. Work is standardly performed on weekdays between 8am-6pm; however, flexibility is paramount as attendance of events after-hours and on weekends may be required.
Salary range is between $20-25/hour commensurate with experience. Benefits not included; however, there is a possibility of this turning into a full-time position in the future as we are looking to grow.
