SALARY: $42,464 - $74,313
The Challenge
We're looking for an experienced Electronics Technician to join the NCDMV License & Theft Logistics team.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate support activities for the efficient unit operation.
- Assist in the acquisition, assignment, and maintenance of vehicles.
- Order, install, and troubleshoot law enforcement vehicle emergency operating equipment, other aftermarket law enforcement vehicle equipment and Mobile Date Terminal (MDT) or Mobile Computer Terminal (MCT) systems.
- Assist our Supply and Logistics team with general warehouse duties.
- Issue uniforms and equipment by direct issue to NCDMV staff visiting the warehouse or by packaging and sending orders to staff across the state.
- Maintain the warehouse by stocking and organizing shelves, straightening specific areas, and moving supplies from outlying storage areas into the main warehouse.
- Assist with receiving, inventorying, and preparing merchandise for issue, including data entry.
- Assist our Supply and Logistics Supervisor in ordering uniforms and equipment and any associated paperwork.
- Climb ladders, crouch and reach to stock top and bottom shelves and climb in and out of the delivery trucks.
- Lift, load, and unload heavy boxes up to 50 pounds and other supplies.
- Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Safely drive agency-assigned vehicles.
- General office duties and knowledge are required, such as filing and the use of office equipment, use of Outlook mail, including setting schedules using outlook calendar, and use of other Microsoft suite applications (Access, Excel, Word, etc.).
What You Bring
- The highest integrity and maturity to oversee our operations and ensure that inventory controls are maintained to a high standard.
- General office duties and knowledge, such as filing using office equipment (e.g., printer, telephone, fax machine, copier, and scanner), computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook - mail, scheduling - Access, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience installing, adapting, and maintaining telecommunications support equipment, or aftermarket equipment for vehicles.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing vehicle electrical systems using test equipment to maintain proper working condition.
- Ability to acquire quotes and order equipment, supplies, and make recommendations for improvement of existing equipment.
Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in Electronics, and
- 2+ years experience repairing/maintaining complex electronic systems, including some responsibility for the design of electronic apparatus; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
