Job Purpose:

As the philanthropic arm of Corning Incorporated, this position is responsible for grants to tax-exempt educational, human services, and cultural not-for-profit organizations in the U.S. for the purpose of creating vibrant communities in selected U.S. communities where Corning operates. The position is responsible for creating volunteer events in communities where Corning has locations to promote employee engagement and also matches employee donations to a broad array of charitable organizations. This position reports into the Senior Director, Community Impact and Investment.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Management of a multimillion-dollar grant budget
  • Ongoing guidance and support with local NPOs and business locations as needed throughout the grant cycle.
  • Supervision and growth of employee programs that expand employee volunteerism in their communities across the US..

 

Other duties as assigned: The Manager, Philanthropy and Volunteerism also would be expected to represent the organization in community events and speaking engagements as needed.

 

Skills and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field required.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a philanthropy environment.
  • Working knowledge of not-for-profit organizations and the field of philanthropy required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate interest in becoming an “ambassador” for the programs of giving in general, and volunteerism in particular.
  • Supervisor skills are preferred.

 

Confidential Data: This position has access to confidential information pertaining to personal donations of time and resources by Corning employees, as well as information and knowledge of decisions about contributions made through the Community Impact and Investment.

The range for this position is $102,322.00 - $140,694.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
