This is a remote (work from home) position for candidates based in the United States. We have an office in Raleigh, NC which provides opportunity for in-person collaboration.

What you’ll do:

1. Collaborate with the software development, security, quality assurance and broader company to maintain, improve, and automate the learning-platform's toolchain.
2. Establish, maintain and improve engineering guardrails to enhance engineering’s ability to self-service new and existing software deployments.
3. Maintain and enhance multiple K8S (EKS) clusters supporting > 750 deployments across multiple environments.
4. Maintain systems in accordance with our SLOs and regulatory frameworks.
5. Triage and troubleshoot platform issues in collaboration with the broader team.
6. Work in a talented and dedicated team, providing code reviews, guidance and mentorship as appropriate to enhance code quality and consistency throughout the system.

Tech we use:

1. We're primarily an EKS (K8S) shop using Github Actions, ArgoCD and some custom Operators to maintain several hundred unique deployments including typical SaaS services as well as our custom learner-sandbox infrastructure.
2. Infrastructure like AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub/GHA, Kafka, Postgresql, Redis.
3. Backend technologies like Go, Python, and Ruby
4. React

We are looking for:

1. A seasoned engineer with deep experience in AWS and K8S (or equivalent).
2. Desire to implement an excellent developer experience through efficient tooling, intuitive observability, timely/actionable alerting, and other software engineering best practices.
3. The ability to improve team culture through dialog, mentorship, code reviews, and striking up a conversation from time to time.
4. Engagement with product management and customer support to understand the problems you are solving for our clients so you can make product features that matter.
5. High level of execution in a remote-first, startup environment where you can be curious, take ownership and help each other.
6. Cybersecurity interest or experience.
