Work Schedule:
 Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

 

The Content Specialist will be responsible for crafting engaging, audience-centric articles for Ally’s award-winning content hub, Conversationally.com. This position will edit and write consumer-friendly financial content and work with cross-functional partners to own a distribution channel and calendar.
 

Ally work location is Charlotte NC - in office role with hybrid schedule

The Work Itself

  • Complete assigned editing and writing projects within required deadlines
  • Follow editorial guidelines and deliver copy in brand style and tone
  • Write captions, upload imagery and post stories in CMS tool
  • Conduct research and fact check topics
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and quarterly brainstorming sessions
  • Write strong briefs for content production
  • Review and interpret data to inform content strategy
  • Interview subject-matter experts, thought leaders and consumers
  • Update and optimize older articles with fresh information or new research
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends in consumer finance and business priorities
  • Work with cross-functional partners to own a distribution plan
  • Implement a test-and-learn approach to make data-informed decisions
  • Manage the production process for assigned articles from start to end
  • Handle approval process for legal, brand, accessibility and compliance reviews

 

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, business, communications, PR or marketing or related field preferred
  • 1+ years of professional experience writing long form content required, in a newsroom environment preferred
  • Portfolio of at least five writing samples demonstrating quality of work
  • Understanding of AP style and basic SEO best practices
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues inside and outside the organization
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Works well under pressure and is able to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently
  • Track record of managing multiple assignments at once
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working with a content management system

Base Pay Range: $65000 - $115000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
