Job Summary/Basic Function

Bay de Noc Community College is a student-focused, multi-campus institution serving the higher education needs of the south central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. Experience teaching health and wellbeing
  3. Commitment to quality instruction in a learner-centered environment with the goal of consistently improving student success
  4. Commitment to the community college mission and philosophy
  5. Ability to provide diverse learning experiences to diverse student populations
  6. Demonstrated skill in effective written and oral communications
  7. Demonstrated literacy in information technology and computer use


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree
  2. Experience in teaching courses at the postsecondary level, preferably in a community college setting
  3. Experience with active and collaborative learning strategies
  4. Online teaching certification

Serve as a temporary instructor for Physical Health Education class offered online. The course PHED 141 Physical Fitness Wellness Approach

Facilitate student learning through the following activities:

  1. Develop course syllabi that shares with students the expectations, standards, policies, and learning objectives of the course.
  2. Contribute to the development and delivery of assessments of course and program learning outcomes.
  3. Recognize and respond to different student learning styles and needs.
  4. Develop and use supplementary learning materials, resources, and technology.
  5. Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.

Adhere to the ethical standards of the college, the State of Michigan, the Higher Learning Commission, FERPA and other education regulations, and the art profession.
