Under the general direction of Manager of Educational Technology and Innovation, the 3D Design and Printing Technician supports the creation of digital and physical models that enhance teaching and learning in the health sciences. This role involves developing accurate 3D assets, preparing files for printing, and producing prototypes that contribute to educational effectiveness.
The role involves collaboration with subject matter experts, assisting with digital asset management, maintaining intellectual property records, and organizing digital resources. In addition to production tasks, the technician researches how 3D technologies best contribute to health sciences education, examines how similar tools are applied at other institutions, and evaluates scope and cost efficiency for projects. The position also includes developing and delivering presentations on 3D printing to demonstrate how it can be applied to teaching and learning in the health sciences. The ideal candidate should have experience in 3D digital design and printing, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to innovation, efficiency, and advancing teaching and learning in the health sciences.
