Purpose: Provides leadership to the Production Department to ensure that safety, quality, productivity, scheduling and delivery goals are achieved.

Schedule: 4 Day Work Week!

  • 2nd Shift: M-TH 5:15PM-3:45AM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs, manages and oversees the Production Department of the plant by setting expectations and driving accountability.
  • Understands performance measurements relative to team accomplishments.
  • Interviews, selects, trains, evaluates and motivates direct reports.
  • Ensures proper training of direct reports in all warehouse processes. Plans and coordinates training/education activities to achieve current and future business objectives.
  • Enhances and promotes employee morale through effective communications, consistent application of policies/practices and employee coaching and counseling.
  • Ensures compliance to company policies including rules of conduct.
  • Resolves conflict in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and improves production quality via the use of quality tools, audits and employee awareness.
  • Reviews existing work processes and methods for potential improvements and recommend changes as appropriate via the CPAR system.
  • Monitors and maintains a clean and safe working environment through adherence and enforcement of Safety regulations and observance of good housekeeping practices and adherence to 5S system.
  • Utilizes Lean Six Sigma tools to identify and drive continuous improvement activities reducing or eliminating waste and variation.
  • Identify and adopt best practices.
  • Accountable for the timely completion of administrative responsibilities, i.e. managing time off requests, employee performance appraisals, etc.
  • Ensures procedural accuracy for material and labor tracking
  • Maintains employees’ labor hours/adjustments daily.
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions.
  • Cultivates a positive working environment - Builds and strengthens relationships within the team
  • Serves as an excellent example to others.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree or Higher preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working in manufacturing facility
  • Previous experience leading and supervising employees
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills to successfully interact in a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor with strong evidence of confidentiality and use of sound judgment.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
  • Experience with Microsoft Navision a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Light to moderate physical effort required on a constant basis
  • Must be able to lift - up to 50 pounds
  • Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Protective equipment not required but available for nuisance dust
  • Safety Toe/ Steel Toe shoes are required

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a plant/production environment
  • Contains any number of elements including but not limited to fiberglass/insulation material, dust, fumes, and noise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
