With a commitment to excellence and water safety, the City of Seattle's eight indoor swimming pools offer a wide selection of swimming lessons, recreational swimming, and fitness opportunities. The Senior Lifeguard position requires knowledge of advanced principles, methods, practices, and procedures of lifesaving, first aid, and water safety instruction. This position works under general supervision and is distinguished from the Aquatic Center Coordinator, Assistant in that the Senior Lifeguard has lead responsibility for Lifeguard instructional program planning, development, and operations and for training Lifeguard staff. Qualifications
Requires six (6) months of increasingly responsible lifeguard experience as a qualified lifeguard and swim instructor, including additional experience involving pool maintenance and/or operations. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must pass a background check and physical. Must be prepared to perform in emergency situations.
License, Certification, And Other Requirements
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This position is required to work nights and weekends and varying hours and is required to follow safety precautions when handling toxic/hazardous substances. This position is expected to stand for extended periods of time and may be exposed to high noise levels and hot/humid weather conditions.

The full salary range for this position is $22.78 - $25.55 per hour.
