Job Description

BuildYourFirm is a web design and marketing agency serving accountants and CPA firms. We are looking for a PHP Developer with 4+ years of experience to help maintain, improve, and modernize our custom web applications.

This role will involve working on existing PHP applications, including Laravel and some Symfony projects, while also helping rewrite legacy systems in Laravel and migrate applications to AWS.

This is a contract-to-hire position expected to last 6 to 9 months. Remote work is allowed.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain and enhance existing custom PHP applications
2. Work in Laravel-based applications and some Symfony codebases
3. Rewrite legacy applications into Laravel
4. Help migrate applications and related infrastructure to AWS
5. Troubleshoot bugs, improve performance, and support production systems
6. Collaborate with the team using Git-based workflows

Requirements

1. 4+ years of professional PHP development experience
2. Strong Laravel experience
3. Experience with Git
4. Ability to work with and improve existing codebases
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

Preferred Experience

1. Symfony experience
2. AWS experience
3. Experience modernizing legacy applications
4. Experience with cloud migrations

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
