The Challenge
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance/Construction Technician IV to join our Facilities Management team to resolve facility maintenance issues in state-owned buildings.
What You Bring
- Excellent knowledge of building codes.
- Ability to perform at the journey level in 2+ of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, or plastering.
- Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and materials used in general maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints, read and interpret building codes, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to direct the work of other skilled workers.
- Demonstrated ability to plan projects, assign tasks, and ensure project deadlines are met.
Notes
- You may be required to work at another facility as directed by your Supervisor or lead mechanic.
- Unscheduled overtime may be required during building emergencies, and the role involves callbacks to assist with building emergencies after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
- You will need to work during bad weather conditions.
- We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, Ill or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
Education & Experience
- High School/GED Diploma, and
- 2+ years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
