SALARY: $33,272- $58,226

 

The Challenge

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance/Construction Technician to join our Maintenance Operations and Fleet Management team.

 

In this role, you will:

  1. Perform hands-on skilled technical work with routine construction, maintenance, and repair operations at facilities statewide.
  2. Develop and make adjustments to short-term assignments, schedules, and priorities.
  3. Perform maintenance, repair, and minor renovation work to electrical and plumbing in buildings, equipment, and utility systems.
  4. Service and maintain fuel system.
  5. Perform housekeeping, grounds, and vehicle maintenance.
  6. Draw working plans for minor renovations and repairs.
  7. Perform cost estimating of repairs and other projects.
  8. Operate water and/or waste water treatment plants.
  9. Participate in facility master planning, outside bid package development, and implementation.
  10. Review and comment on plan sheets from outside designers and contractors.
  11. Monitor and inspect contractor construction and renovation projects.
  12. Act as liaison to local officials and/or regulatory agencies.
  13. Participate in the overall management and policy making for the facility/agency.
  14. Inspect the facility/agency for maintenance needs and for safety hazards.

 

What You Bring

  1. Knowledge of the standard practices and methods of electrical and plumbing services.
  2. Demonstrated ability to read and work on blueprints, sketches, and schematics.
  3. Demonstrated ability to train, direct, and supervise the work of others
  4. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  5. Working knowledge of building codes and all other rules and regulations governing repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities.
  6. Demonstrated ability to find and solve defects and follow verbal and written instructions.

 

Education & Experience

  1. High School/GED diploma, and
  2. 1+ year of relevant experience; or
  3. An equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Note

  1. We may require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal Technician.
