Avum is seeking a skilled and experienced full stack developer to support the implementation of an Appian-based Contract Writing System for the Navy. This fully remote position that requires US Citizenship allows you to work from anywhere in the US and the ability to obtain a DoD Clearance.

What You Will Be Doing

• Writing microservices in Java and Spring Boot Framework and Angular to support functions for the Contract Writing system that are developed and managed in multiple environments
• Creating SQL queries and build tables and views for Oracle database for related micro-services
• Designing secure code compliant with ASD STIG requirements and other government security and compliance requirements as well as remediating vulnerabilities discovered by code scans
• Building unit tests for microservices
• Troubleshooting application issues in a complex environment hosted in AWS cloud
• Providing backup support for AWS Engineer (S3, QuickSight, AWS Transfer Server)

What You Will Need:

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Clearance
• A minimum of five (5) of hands-on developing in Java, Spring, Hibernate, and Angular
• Experience managing Java projects with Maven
• Ability to design complex architectures
• Strong ability to coordinate with internal and external teams to troubleshoot and debug issues in a complex, cloud-hosted environment
• A minimum of one (1) year experience of AWS experience

It's A Plus If You Have This:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or certification Associate Developer certificate
• Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Tanzu, etc.)
• Familiarity with software engineering tools, software development methodology and release
• Terraform experience

Location:

The candidate will be required to interact and coordinate with external project team members and other Avum employees remotely, supporting core Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours. As a remote employee, the candidate will not have a permanent office or desk space but may be required to attend in-person meetings. This may require travel to government sites located in Washington, D.C., and the Avum office located in Agoura Hills, California. Our priority is acquiring the most qualified candidate to satisfactorily perform the required tasks, including team collaboration, regardless of the candidate’s geographical location.

NOTE: This fully remote role requires the candidate to participate in meetings virtually using tools like Microsoft Teams. Online availability during the core Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours, Monday through Friday, will be required.
