The eLearning Developer (ELD) works closely with Learning Experience Designers and Media Specialists to design, develop, and launch engaging, interactive eLearning courses that will drive measurable improvements in the Client Learning department. The ELD will be primarily responsible for web and interface design in the course development process, creating key design and digital assets, finalizing layout, designing and developing interactivities, and coding of the course. The ELD will act as an interactivity specialist, consulting and guiding their team members in designing and developing high-quality training activities in a variety of rapid development tools and environments.
What You’ll Do:
Designs web and user interface for eLearning courses
Creates key design and digital assets for courses and finalizes layouts
Designs and manages all interactivity and course development (HTML/CSS/JS)
Works collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders to design interactivities and graphics for the LMS and courses
Consults with Learning Experience Designers (LXD)s to suggest and improve course experience
Act as a liaison for LXDs and Media Specialists to manage visual strategy for courses
Reviews and improves/edits existing courses
As needed, creates/designs basic instructional content
Mentors members of the team in the use/best practices of tools
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Recommends strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; and anticipating requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Web Development or Graphic Design with 0 to 3 years of experience in developing digital courses and interactivities, or UI/UX, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
Proficiency in Coding Languages: CSS, HTML5, XHTML, and JavaScript
Familiarity with SCORM standards with ability to develop courses in an LMS system
Understanding of adult learning theory and Instructional Design best practices
Experience in eLearning rapid development software, such as but not limited to: Articulate Storyline or Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate or Creative Suite, Lectora Online
Familiarity/experience in graphic design
Strong writing, editing and communication management skills.
Familiarity with storyboarding and scripting
Strong collaboration skills with proven ability to achieve project objectives through team work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working directly with instructional designers to help guide their thinking toward effective outcomes.
Able to adapt quickly to new technology, new processes and procedures, and standards in an environment of continuous improvement.
Passion for eLearning and remaining on the cutting edge of current industry trends and an ability to provide perspective in a team environment
Strong time management skills and ability to meet all scheduled deadlines.
Demonstrated project management skills.
