Job Description:


The Marketing & Communications Associate plays a key role in advancing the mission of the Planned Giving and Foundations (PG&F) by supporting individual and foundations stewardship, legacy society engagement, events, and strategic public relations and communications. This position focuses on deepening relationships with current and prospective planned giving and foundation donors, amplifying impact through thoughtful messaging, and contributing to the long-term sustainability of the organization.

Guided by the annual PG&F Strategic Plan, the Marketing & Communications Associate will devise strategies to share the work of the department by employing such platforms, but not limited to, social media outlets, print and digital communications and newsletters.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and project manager with a donor-centered mindset, who understands how storytelling, relationship-building, and timely engagement contribute to a successful planned giving and foundations program.


Key Responsibilities

Donor Engagement & Stewardship

  1. Assist in the execution of the FIDF Legacy Society and Foundations Year-Long Engagement and Stewardship Plan.
  2. Support the cultivation and stewardship of planned giving and foundation donors through recognition events and special communications.
  3. Coordinate donor and foundation touchpoints such as thank-you letters, birthday greetings, milestone acknowledgments, and anniversary notes for certain segments of PGF.
  4. Assist with planning and execution of donor and foundation engagement events (in-person and virtual), including webinars, luncheons, and recognition gatherings.


Communication & Content Development

  1. Oversee social media and public relations outreach efforts for PG&F in coordination with FIDF’s marketing team, ensuring a consistent and engaging presence.
  2. Arrange and distribute relevant engagement and communication materials to Legacy Society donors, donor-advised funds, foundations, federations, Foundation’s Visionary Society, and professional advisors.
  3. Develop timely holiday greetings and messages for target PG&F constituencies.
  4. Maintain a relationship with FIDF Foundation’s website operator whether internally or externally to ensure content is up to date and aligned with strategic priorities with respect for the fidf.org look and content.
  5. Support the coordination and distribution of some of the PGF mailings to ensure accurate timelines, messaging, and segmentation.


Data and Administrative support

  1. Assist with mailing lists, reports, and analytics to support outreach and engagement strategies.
  2. Manage the timing and execution of specific mailings and communications as assigned.
  3. Support PGF marketing and communications by working with external vendors and consultants on specific assignments, as directed. Amy Deren Milgrim remains the primary contact.
  4. Assist in maintaining an organized system for tracking outreach initiatives, ROI, ensuring deadlines are met and campaigns are executed efficiently.


Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or a related field.
  2. At least 3 to 5 years working as a professional in the field of communications and public relations.
  3. Ability to write communications that resonate with a variety of donors with a wide range of demographics and foundation representatives.
  4. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and email marketing tools.
  5. Familiarity with CRM’s which may include Raiser’s Edge NXT,
  6. Understand the need to conduct donor segmentation and reporting.
  7. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
  10. Experience in non-profits, fund raising which may include Foundations and Planned Giving.


This role is essential to ensure that FIDF’s Planned Giving and Foundations outreach remains strong, visible, organized, and strategically aligned with donor cultivation, engagement, and stewardship goals.
