We are seeking a motivated and savvy Content Editor to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee our content publishing needs and be responsible for ensuring that all consumer-facing content is of the highest quality, is accurate, and effectively engages our target audiences, while accurately representing the brand goals, messaging, and ethos. This role is responsible for creating, reviewing, proofreading, and editing content to ensure that it meets our standards for quality, accuracy, and tonal consistency, in addition to content strategizing and analyzing readership data.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to work under tight deadlines, in a fast-paced work environment, and experience working with consumer goods. To excel in this role, you must have experience in developing and editing content, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. A bachelor's degree in English or a related field is a must.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Write, proofread, edit and/or review all consumer-facing content to ensure it meets quality, accuracy, and tonal consistency standards.
• Verify content and information accuracy.
• Ensure that content meets the company’s needs and follows our brand messaging and tone.
• Manage and prioritize content assignments, ensuring that content is delivered on time and to a high standard.
• Implement the company's content strategy to ensure that it effectively engages our target audiences.
• Develop an understanding of our target audience and stay up to date with industry trends to ensure that our content remains compelling and relevant.
• Collaborate with marketing, design, and product teams to ensure that all content is fresh and creative, and fits into the larger brand strategy, keeping our audience in mind.
• Manage and oversee external content contributors and freelancers.
• Conduct regular audits of all content on our website, social media, and other channels to ensure they are up to date and relevant.
• Manage a busy workload according to deadlines.
• Analyze data and analytics, and seek to increase reader engagement and retention.
• Knowledge of SEO and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of the English language.
• Proven experience as a Content Editor within the consumer goods industry.
• Exceptional writing, copy editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail and consistency.
• Strong knowledge of digital content standards and SEO principles.
• Experience with content management systems and tools.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Proficient in desktop publishing software.
• Must have a genuine love for beauty and hair care.
• Must be organized with excellent self-motivational and time management skills.
• Must be flexible and teachable.
• Must be a proactive team player.
• Must behave in a professional manner, representing the brand supremely.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and Social Media platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
