About the role:

The Commercial Wholesale Underwriter I is a full time, 100% remote position responsible for the development, growth, and maintenance of a profitable book of business. The Commercial Wholesale Underwriter I underwrites, prices, and documents new and renewal policies and endorsements in accordance with established underwriting guidelines. Some travel required.

What you will do:

• Examine account file documentation to determine an adequate premium charge for the exposure and appropriate endorsements and exclusions to address loss exposures and present a recommendation for approval.
• Maintain a working knowledge of company underwriting policies, procedures, guidelines, and requirements to ensure quality service and production standards.
• Review reports, agreements, and related documentation for acceptability and update file notes accordingly.
• Manage relationships with assigned brokers and/or territories to solicit business and retain existing policies.
• Educate assigned brokers on our underwriting appetite and guidelines.

What you will need:

• Commercial multi-line underwriting and pricing experience and knowledge. Experience with commercial excess underwriting preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity and production standards on a consistent basis.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship building, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets.
