Job Description:


Our growing, mid-sized pharmaceutical client has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide a Clinical Category Lead to support clinical outsourcing (early phase study) activities. This consultant will leverage agile category management and contract management best practices, along with an understanding of clinical study sourcing to manage assigned categories and address business needs with suppliers. This role collaborates closely with business partners and complies with category and sourcing strategies for R&D categories of service.

Category Management:

  1. Negotiate MSA agreements as assigned
  2. Ensure timely use of Ariba tool – including entering Purchase Requisitions and Contract Workspace inputs as appropriate.
  3. Consolidate business needs
  4. Leverage supplier market intelligence and competitive landscape
  5. Implement category strategies to support long-term business needs
  6. Define category-specific KPIs and metrics to track and monitor supplier performance
  7. Develop and leverage RFX methodology (category level)
  8. Negotiate and implement competitive business agreements with strategic suppliers
  9. Monitor contract implementation and deviations
  10. Coordinate governance and regular business reviews with strategic suppliers


Execution:

  1. Develop and leverage RFX methodology (study level) in compliance with the sourcing strategy
  2. Facilitate evaluation of potential vendors through effective bidding process & capabilities presentations
  3. Negotiate and implement competitive commercial conditions with suppliers/CROs
  4. Facilitate the contracting process through full execution in collaboration with business partners
  5. Negotiate new and amended work specifications, budgets, payment schedules, and other documents that control the activities and performance of contract service providers.
  6. Escalate issues in a timely manner and support issue resolution to ensure study timelines and deliverables
  7. Work collaboratively across the Sourcing Strategy and Execution team to ensure business needs are being met and all levels of engagement from this team are connected.
  8. Support assigned categories as well as provide overflow/backup support across the execution team to ensure consistent work output for business stakeholders.


Mandatory Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree (management or science preferred) & 5-8+ years in Sourcing/Procurement or vendor management in a CRO/Pharmaceutical role
  2. Previous experience working with CROs and other key clinical service providers
  3. Experience working in fully outsourced clinical study management and monitoring models


Term & Start

  1. 12-month contract, open to 12+ month extension
  2. 2 Video Interviews - Start 2 weeks from an offer
  3. Full-time, 40 hours/week – benefits included (health, dental, vision, 401k)
