What We Are Looking For:

The Taylor International team is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with proven experience and a strong commitment to customer service. We are looking to add a key team member as we undergo a phase of rapid growth and development.

The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager with oversight of multi-million-dollar commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to facilitate and coordinate various aspects of commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

The Assistant Project Manager also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of Taylor International.

In this role, you will:

  1. Collaborate with the Project Manager in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  2. Assist in the development of project timelines, milestones, and critical path analysis.
  3. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely project progress.
  4. Assist in monitoring project budgets, expenses, and cost control measures.
  5. Track and report on project financials, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  6. Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and daily logs.
  7. Generate regular progress reports and updates for project stakeholders.
  8. Assist in preparing and submitting required permits and documentation.
  9. Ensure compliance with quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
  10. Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential issues or hazards.
  11. Foster strong communication and collaboration among project team members.
  12. Act as a liaison between the project team, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  13. Identify potential risks and issues and work with the Project Manager to develop mitigation strategies.
  14. Assist in resolving project-related disputes or conflicts.
  15. Coordinate the allocation of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials.
  16. Define the scope of work for all trade contractors involved in the project.
  17. Prepare and distribute RFPs to trade contractors for their respective scopes of work.
  18. Receive and organize the results of bids submitted by trade contractors.
  19. Examine and assess any changes made to project drawings.
  20. Share updated plans and relevant project information with trade contractors to accommodate changes.
  21. Collect and scrutinize detailed material and labor quantities, providing explanations to the owner as needed.
  22. Maintain records and organization of trade contractor requirements pertaining to safety, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), submittals, and Schedules of Values

What You Need:

  1. Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management-related position
  3. Proficiency in construction project management software (Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite
  4. Must have experience with multi-million commercial building projects
  5. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  7. Familiarity with construction documentation, drawings, and specifications.
  8. Knowledge of safety regulations and construction best practices.
  9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  10. OSHA 30
