San Marcos Publishing, LP publishes multiple newspapers and magazines in Hays County including its flagship newspaper the San Marcos Daily Record.The Daily Record has covered San Marcos and Hays County for 112 years. We are looking for an Office Manager/Bookkeeper for a full time position
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing bookkeeping and administrative support to the office.
- Manage office record keeping.
- Work closely with departments, making the Publisher aware of issues and/or concerns.
- Handle daily transactions and monthly billing
- Monitor, manage and maintain office equipment and supplies; request repair or restocking when necessary.
- Produces reports as required.
- Uses and understands Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and other business-specific software. Understanding of Quickbooks preferred but not required.
- Answers incoming internal and external customer calls and provides exceptional customer service.
Skills
- Experience with bookkeeping, receipt and payment tracking
- Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities, systems and procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, in particular) and Google applications
- Hands on experience with office machines (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Extreme attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills
