Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Volunteer & Event Coordinator

FSLA STATUS: Full-time Exempt

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

SUPERVISES: Volunteers and Event Committees

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Volunteer & Event Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and engaging volunteers, coordinating the volunteer event committees, and educating the community on the issues surrounding homelessness.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

Organizational Leadership (5%)

 Commit to mission and vision and role model C-U at Home’s core value

 Follow the guidelines, policies, procedures, and general philosophy of the organization

 Participate in leadership team operational and strategic meetings

Volunteer Engagement (85%)

 Develop a volunteer engagement strategy for C-U at Home

 Recruit a set of strong volunteers and volunteer groups, episodic and consistent

 Develop and deliver a training curriculum focused on CU at Home and homelessness

 Coordinate and schedule volunteer engagement

 Coordinate and schedule in-kind contributions from individuals, faith, and community groups

 Steward volunteers through various forms of recognition

 Serve as the key contact for CU at Home and third-party events, fundraising and awareness

Community Education (10%)

 Assist in the development of key messages for C-U at Home

 Develop education tools including brochures, webinars, Zoom meetings, in person, and tours

 Deliver educational materials to individuals and groups in the community

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

 Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 2+ years of experience coordinating volunteers

 2+ years of experience leading a team, scheduling and coordinating activities

 Good judgement and flexibility

 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

 Strong verbal and written communication skills

 Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google tools

 Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments.

Preferred Qualifications

 Experience with and passion for the homeless population with mental illness and/or substance abuse

 Working knowledge of data collection technology platforms

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
