We invite you to apply for our open SMERF Sales Manager role. In this position, your primary responsibility will be to solicit, develop, and maintain accounts in your assigned market segments through direct sales efforts, ensuring that budgeted financial results are achieved and even exceeded.

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

 

  • Maintaining regular contact with existing accounts in your assigned market segments.
  • Identifying and developing new accounts through telephone solicitations and email.
  • Conducting outside sales calls to local industry accounts.
  • Following up on all leads and inquiries.
  • Participating in civic events and organizations.
  • Developing and implementing monthly and yearly sales action plans.
  • Engaging in weekly sales and staff meetings.
  • Resolving, rectifying, or mediating guest issues.

 

Our requirements for this role include:

 

  • A broad understanding of the tourism industry and the day-to-day operations of a hotel/resort.
  • A four-year bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management and/or a four-year bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, or a relevant field is beneficial.
  • Demonstrable experience and success in developing and closing group business.

 

A successful candidate will consistently show initiative in job performance, including anticipating tasks before they become necessary and maintaining composure and objectivity under pressure.

Salary: $42,000-$55,000 per year, with an additional expected commission of $10,000-$20,000.
