Founded in 2021, Independence Pet Holdings is a corporate holding company overseeing a diverse portfolio of modern pet health brands and services across North America. Its offerings span pet insurance, education, lost pet recovery, and more.

The company views pet insurance as more than a financial product. It focuses on simplifying the pet parenting journey while improving overall pet well-being. With a full stack of resources, capital, and services, Independence Pet Holdings supports pet owners through a multi-brand, omnichannel approach that includes its own insurance carrier, proprietary brands, and partner networks.

Pets Best, a subsidiary of Independence Pet Holdings, provides insurance and wellness plans for dogs and cats nationwide. Established in 2005, the company’s mission is to make comprehensive animal healthcare accessible and affordable. Pets Best is known for flexible coverage, a streamlined claims process, and strong customer service.

Job Summary

Pets Best is hiring an SEO & Marketing Content Manager to drive meaningful growth in organic traffic, demand capture, and conversion performance across its digital channels.

This role owns SEO and search-driven content from end to end, including keyword strategy, technical optimization, landing page performance, and lifecycle messaging. You’ll combine deep SEO expertise with a strong focus on conversion and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This is a hands-on role centered on measurable outcomes rather than vanity metrics.

You will play a key role in closing immediate performance gaps while building scalable organic growth and content systems that elevate the marketing organization. You’ll also ensure content performs effectively across modern search environments, including AI-driven experiences such as Google AI Overviews and large language model discovery platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini.

Location: Remote – USA

Key Responsibilities

SEO Strategy, Content Execution & Optimization

Own and execute SEO-driven content across blogs, landing pages, website copy, and lifecycle touchpoints. Write, optimize, and refresh content to improve non-brand organic traffic, search relevance, and conversion rates. Implement on-page SEO best practices, including metadata, headers, internal linking, and performance-based updates. Align all content with user intent, funnel stages, keyword strategy, and business goals.

Organic Conversion & Funnel Performance

Take ownership of conversion performance from organic traffic, including quote starts, lead submissions, and downstream actions. Collaborate with CRO, product, analytics, and paid media teams to identify friction points and improve user journeys. Translate keyword intent into high-performing landing page experiences and contribute to experimentation efforts that boost conversion rates and engagement.

Keyword Research & Demand Capture

Conduct ongoing keyword research, gap analysis, and competitive analysis using tools like SEMrush. Build and maintain keyword-to-content and funnel mappings. Prioritize new content, refreshes, and landing page expansion based on business goals, seasonal demand, and campaign calendars.

Lifecycle & Cross-Channel Content

Leverage search insights to inform lifecycle messaging, email campaigns, paid landing pages, and partner content. Develop and optimize content that supports acquisition, nurturing, retention, and re-engagement. Maintain consistent messaging across organic, email, paid, and partner channels while testing variations to improve performance.

AI Search & Emerging Discovery Optimization

Optimize content for evolving search experiences, including Google AI Overviews and LLM-based platforms. Structure content to increase visibility in zero-click results and AI-generated summaries. Stay current on SEO and AI trends and apply best practices to execution.

Technical SEO & Scalability

Work with engineering, product, and analytics teams to improve crawlability, indexation, and site performance. Support structured data and schema implementation. Define SEO requirements for new templates, CMS updates, and site enhancements. Ensure SEO is integrated into ongoing development processes.

Reporting & Performance Analysis

Own reporting on organic performance tied to business outcomes such as traffic growth, conversions, and funnel efficiency. Use GA4, Search Console, and SEO tools to diagnose issues and recommend actions. Partner with analytics teams to enhance attribution, journey visibility, and executive-level reporting.
