Title: Senior Editor

Location: Remote

Job Summary: Work with two EICs to support their respective Healthcare media brands and their editorial position including maintaining the publication's style. Addresses the areas of organization and coordination needed to ensure editorial materials are articulate, accurate, understandable, and useful to the audiences.

Primary Objectives: Responsible to help plan the focus for the issues that align with the editorial calendar and supports our sales abilities. You will carefully review all sources of materials, including from contributing editors outside Endeavor for verifiable information.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Organization and coordination focus on implementing the day-to-day plans of the EICs.
  • Working with staff and contributing writers to ensure materials are accurate, on schedule, and complete
  • Ability to interview contributors, accurately write up that information and finalize articles that are informative and accurate.
  • Work with the EICs on content needs
  • Coordinate our CEU article submissions.
  • Gathering of news items for the daily e-news publications of both HI and HPN.
  • Over time, mastery of all key subject areas of both publications, under the guidance of the editors, with any specialization of focus, as directed and guided by the editors.
  • Reporting on a wide variety of subject areas for each publication, as directed and guided by each editor, including long-form feature articles and special reports, for print (HPN) and online (both publications).
  • On HPN, a variety of responsibilities around print production, including overseeing the continuing education process.
  • Over time, participation as a moderator of webinars and potentially, in-person panels at conferences, as directed and coordinated by the editors.
  • The senior editor will be responsible for handling social media tasks on both publications.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities that arise, as directed by the editors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of style and the English language
  • Knowledge in gathering information/reporting abilities
  • Knowledge in basic production processes
  • Ability to reflect the mission and philosophy of the Healthcare Brands
  • Proficient with: Word, Excel, e-mail, Web and Social Media.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or at least a B.A. in English with heavy emphasis on writing for the mass media
  • 2+ years as a staff writer, editor, or similar position.

Special Job Dimensions: Possible travel to trade shows and/or eventual hosting of live-streamed events.

As a company we have embraced the emerging pay transparency laws. The pay range for this position is $45,000-55,000 per year.
