Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Executive Director to lead our Child Care program with energy, vision, and a commitment to excellence. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of early childhood education, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and development opportunities for children. You will inspire and manage a dedicated team of educators, foster strong relationships with families and community partners, and drive strategic initiatives that promote growth, innovation, and sustainability within the organization. Role purpose

To lead Center culture, staffing, licensing, accreditation, compliance, communication with families, and strategic oversight of financial and operational reporting. The ED serves as the primary leadership figure for staff and families and is responsible for maintaining alignment between Center operations and mission.

Leadership and staff development

· Provide hands-on leadership to teaching and administrative staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and professionalism.

· Oversee recruitment, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and terminations in alignment with GQCC policies and EEC licensing standards.

· Conduct regular classroom observations, feedback sessions, and professional development planning.

· Select and approve the Center’s curriculum and guide overall educational philosophy and learning goals.

· Ensure that all classrooms implement curriculum aligned with the Massachusetts Early Learning Guidelines and the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.

· Maintain a positive workplace culture that supports staff retention and continuity.

· Provide instructional feedback to teachers in collaboration with the Assistant Director.

Family and community engagement

Maintain open, transparent, and proactive communication with families on Center updates and policies, classroom activities, and child progress, including communicating both verbally and in writing with parents on an ongoing basis.

Organize and promote family engagement initiatives and events.

Serve as the primary liaison between families and management to ensure inclusive decision-making and responsiveness.

Licensing, compliance, and safety

Maintain full compliance with Massachusetts EEC licensing standards and policies.

Oversee NAEYC accreditation and reaccreditation process.

Monitor health, safety, emergency procedures, mandatory reporting requirements, and documentation records.

Ensure classroom and Center-wide preparedness for drills, inspections, and audits

Operational oversight

Supervise the Assistant Director and ensure timely, accurate completion of administrative tasks, financial reporting, enrollment tracking, and family communications.

Ensure ratios and staffing schedules are maintained; step into a classroom or open/close the Center if required.

Maintain secure and accessible digital recordkeeping for staff and children in compliance with licensing and accreditation requirements.

Review monthly financial reports prepared by the Assistant Director.

Create high-level summaries on finances, enrollment, staffing, and operations.

Ensure tuition policies, collections, and grants are executed according to financial procedures.

Lead implementation of teacher bonus metrics.

Approve payroll totals before processing.

Approve vendor contracts and major purchases.

Approve sending overdue accounts to collections.

Ensure that financial decision-making supports long-term stability, including classroom capacity management, strategic use of grants, and adherence to the established budget.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
