Job Description:

As the key leader of Amazon’s Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) organization, the successful candidate will lead and develop the region’s RE&F team, with accountability for all Real Estate & Facilities activity (i.e. leasing, design, construction and FM) delivered by global functional teams ensuring opex and capex budgetary adherence.

Key job responsibilities
They must operate as a true partner to local business leaders, owning business partnering with senior leaders within region as well as other stakeholders within finance, HR, IT, and other functional areas. They must be comfortable diving deep on both the strategic and tactical levels, simultaneously acting as an internal ambassador, educator, analyst, solutions architect, and implementer. They will manage a team of full-time, part-time, and outsourced/contract personnel – inspiring them to achieve the highest standards of customer service and continuous improvement.

The optimal candidate is an experienced and vibrant professional who will excel within an entrepreneurial culture – providing vision, leadership, and communication – but not afraid to dive into details. They should also understand the nuances of being a desirable but smart client or buyer – fostering transparent external relationships, and balancing frugality with creativity.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 10-15 years’ professional experience required, a significant portion of which should demonstrate success one or more of the following areas: corporate real estate, commercial real estate development, workplace design, interior fit-outs, facilities management, office management, corporate administrative services, and/or hospitality management.
• Demonstrated success in managing high-value office fit-out projects, including both the design and construction elements, and delivering within time and budget limitations.
• Ability to draft policies and procedures which match corporate values and organizational goals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• University/undergraduate degree in business administration, engineering, finance, hospitality, or a similar discipline; or alternatively, an additional 4 years of relevant professional experience
• Highly competent with personal computers and productivity software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and SharePoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed architect/engineer, and/or certified project manager;
• Experience building and managing a team within a startup or entrepreneurial setting, particularly one with both proprietary and contract resources; and/or experience in real estate advisory services.
• Keen understanding of market economics, sourcing/procurement, building systems and maintenance, corporate office design & construction, and vendor management
• Comfortable with legal terms and structures for various commercial contracts
• Certifications from and/or membership in relevant professional organizations, such as CoreNet Global, IFMA, BIFM, RICS, AIA, RIBA, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $171,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $255,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
