Requirements

• Independent professional with deep subject-matter expertise in any discipline
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to identify logic gaps, ambiguity, or reasoning failures
• Curiosity about how modern AI systems behave, fail, and are evaluated
• Ability to articulate nuance, constraints, and quality standards from your professional domain
• Comfort engaging with conceptual and analytical material in a self-guided format
• High professional integrity and reliance on personal judgment and methodology
• No prior AI or prompt-engineering experience required

Role Responsibilities

• Complete a self-paced, paid Academy focused on prompt design and AI evaluation concepts
• Learn how prompt structure (context, clarity, constraints) influences AI behavior
• Explore common AI failure modes and how researchers identify reasoning limitations
• Review examples of complex tasks used to stress-test AI systems beyond simple retrieval
• Engage with conceptual frameworks used in modern AI alignment and evaluation research
• Optionally opt in to be considered for Mercor’s high-value expert contributor opportunities
• Maintain full autonomy over how professional expertise is applied in any future work
