Requirements

1. Independent professional with deep subject-matter expertise in any discipline
2. Strong critical thinking skills and ability to identify logic gaps, ambiguity, or reasoning failures
3. Curiosity about how modern AI systems behave, fail, and are evaluated
4. Ability to articulate nuance, constraints, and quality standards from your professional domain
5. Comfort engaging with conceptual and analytical material in a self-guided format
6. High professional integrity and reliance on personal judgment and methodology
7. No prior AI or prompt-engineering experience required

Role Responsibilities

1. Complete a self-paced, paid Academy focused on prompt design and AI evaluation concepts
2. Learn how prompt structure (context, clarity, constraints) influences AI behavior
3. Explore common AI failure modes and how researchers identify reasoning limitations
4. Review examples of complex tasks used to stress-test AI systems beyond simple retrieval
5. Engage with conceptual frameworks used in modern AI alignment and evaluation research
6. Optionally opt in to be considered for Mercor’s high-value expert contributor opportunities
7. Maintain full autonomy over how professional expertise is applied in any future work
