Job Description:

Environmental Health and Safety:
Leads, with the assistance of senior engineers, various aspects of environmental compliance and health and safety activities including certifications, awareness, behavior, specialized programs for the production areas and product lines the engineer is servicing

Production Area Support:
The engineer/specialist is responsible for day to day
execution of the production schedule. They will lead efforts towards
equipment integrity, process improvement and equipment improvement.
They support the business team with product quality metrics and
understanding of equipment capabilities including establishment and execution of priorities. The engineer will learn Safety, PM's, repairs, emergency response, employee relations, quality metrics, Quality Assurance Lab Testing.

Problem Solving:
The engineer/specialist will team with others to engage in problem solving meetings whether the problem is operational, technical, or
equipment based. In the process the engineer/specialist will refine problem solving techniques while learning Preventative Maintenance Program administration and compliance using contemporary engineering technologies. Maintaining PMs at 100% is the standard.

Measuring results of production:
The production engineer/specialist is responsible for the daily execution of tracking data and monitoring ongoing process performance. This is accomplished by interfacing with others in the organization to assess and track production performance.

Management Team Member:
The production engineer/specialist teams and partners with departmental and site management to support other site operations and managers as part of an aligned partnership.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required.

Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations).

The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. Minimum Qualifications

5 years of chemical /process manufacturing experience

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience developing solutions to a variety of complex problems

  • Experience leading teams

  • Experience representing an organization as the primary contact on contracts or projects

  • Experience interacting with senior internal and external personnel on matters often requiring coordination b/w organization

  • Strong problem-solving credentials with an interest in chemical production.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools and sound engineering practices.

  • Solid academic preparation in the chemical engineering discipline.

  • Ability to lead and measure the performance effectiveness of day-to-day activities of equipment a multifunctional organization.

  • Broad and general knowledge of chemical manufacturing and an interest in building a chemical engineering career based on a production and process chemical engineering foundation.

  • Experience working with and through others with strong values and integrity with team inclinations.
