Oregon Coast Hospitality Sector Strategist
Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA), the leading advocate for Oregon hospitality, seeks a qualified and experienced professional to assume the Oregon Coast Hospitality Sector Strategist position. This crucial role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to analyze, research, and recommend strategies for strengthening the Oregon Coast's vital hospitality sector.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Partnership: Lead and organize the Oregon Coast Hospitality Sector Partnership, facilitating communication and collaboration among industry members, workforce development boards, and community organizations.
- Industry Engagement: Support the launch and ongoing engagement of an industry-led sector partnership initiative in collaboration with the Institute for Networked Communities (INC).
- Research and Analysis: Develop, implement, and analyze comprehensive industry-wide surveys for both employers and employees. Development of surveys with industry employers, workers, and potential workers to help understand the current state of the industry that captures information around each of the eight good jobs principles. A focus of these surveys will be understanding the experience and barriers to employment for rural communities, unemployed/underemployed adults (including Able-Bodied Adults without Dependent Children), youth (age 17 and over), immigrants, BIPOC residents, and returning citizens. The survey outreach will include Civil Rights Organizations, community-based organizations, tribes, and worker organizations in the area.
- White Paper Development: Prepare a detailed white paper analyzing the current state of the Oregon Coast hospitality sector, including insightful findings, recommendations for improvement, and best practices. The report will be developed to provide employers with a pathway to improve employment and retention and create a growth strategy.
- Data-Driven Insights: Contribute to research and data collection efforts, informing strategies to enhance working conditions, career pathways, and workforce development initiatives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Provide input on state and federal reporting requirements, ensuring project adherence to relevant regulations and maintaining accurate timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, public administration, social sciences, etc.) required.
- 3+ years of experience in research, data analysis, and/or project management preferred.
- Strong understanding of the hospitality industry and its challenges and opportunities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills essential.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively.
- Ideal candidate will be located in the central Oregon Coast area.

- Full-time position - Base salary $72,000 yr.
