Job Description:

NORTH DAKOTA STATE HOSPITAL - Jamestown, ND - Admissions/Switchboard

Hours: 3:00 pm - 11:00 PM & 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM - hours include weekends and rotating holidays.

Qualified candidates will be considered upon receipt of application. The position may be filled prior to the listed closing date after successful completion of the application and interview process.

As an Office Assistant III you will complete the admission process for all individuals admitted to the North Dakota State Hospital in a manner that respects their rights while obtaining the needed information to identify them and to assist in the beginning of their care and treatment.

Each day, you will document and communicate client movements, inventories, records, stores, and distributes clients’ property/valuables. You will, greet, assist, and direct all visitors in a friendly manner. In addition, you will answer, screen, and transfer all incoming calls to the proper extension or paging staff while using a multiline phone system. You will need to be proficient in general office duties and have good computer skills.

To be considered you are required to have a high school diploma or GED and two years of office support, clerical, or secretarial work experience. Coursework in a vocational office support or closely related program may substitute for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis if it provided the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

About Us: The North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH), located in Jamestown, is a specialized psychiatric hospital that serves the whole state. Services focus on psychiatric rehabilitation, residential substance use disorders treatment, and residential treatment for sexually dangerous individuals.
